Holograms

I clayed, polished and waxed and still have them on sides of the car.

What can I do to have this not happen?

By hologram, I mean the "waves" I (you) sometimes get after a wax.

A few things could have happened here. 1) Either the abrasives didnt break down entirely when you were polishing, 2) Enough polish wasnt used when you were polishing, and you could have ended up "dry buffing" (And this can happen by hand as well), 3) you may have used too much wax/sealant on the final step, and what your seeing are actually ghosts (You see "something", buts its just not permanent. 4) any combination of the above.
Lets break down your steps, one by one.
1. PC/hand?
2. Pads
3. Polish(es)
4. Qty passes
5. sealant/wax brand.
Lets get 'er solved!

1. I do it by hand. Still too afraid to purchase a PC. (Done it before by hand with great results)

2. This was my first time using the Sonus SFX Professional Applicator (http://www.autopia-carcare.com/son-sfxpro.html) I only used this for the polish. It's a little more abrasive than what I usually use
I used the Megs Even Coat Applicator for the wax. I REALLY like these things, again never any trouble

3. Just plain old Meguiars Deep Crystal System Polish

4. With polish? Typically just a couple. (up/down..up/down or left/right..left/right)

5. Wax: Megs NXT. (personally I love this wax)

I never had this issue since I started claying. I think it might be the Sonus pads.

Thanks for any help Patrick. It's been too long since I've visited the Wash & Wax section.

Well if your only using the Megs DC polish, chances are its the pad (applicator) your using. DC is very light in the abrasive field of polishes. You may not be using enough polish also. Any chance of that?

It may be too little polish for the type of pad I was using. It was kinda difficult to wipe off.

Maybe I was rubbing too little polish too much??
