Help Terrible Spill!

I need some advice. I was transporting some sodas to my daughter's school for an event today and One of the two liter bottles rolled out of the bag and I guess hit the seat rail and split. There are Two-Liters of Soda in my carpet. I have been trying to sop it up with papertowels, but I fear the sticky mess under the carpet when it dries. I am sure that I will need to get it professionally cleaned, but is there anything else that I should be doing now? All I can be thankful for is that I was not in the Acura!

rent a carpet extractor from home depot with the stair attachment. use that to clean the carpets totally. also, get the non-foaming solution.

And right now is the best time .. before it dries and you have to try and rehydrate it.
