Help me finalizing my decision
Help me finalizing my decision
First of all, thanks to Pat who verified my detailing process. Dropped Natty's Blue from my list, because it has shorter durability and hard to use in hot weather.
Here goes mass questions. You can hate me but I will still like you if you would give some help.
Planned detail process (maybe twice an year)
- Wash
- Clay
- Polish: Optimum Polish (Klasse AIO?)
- Sealant: Four star's UPP
- Wax: Four Star's UPPS (Aqua Wax?)
1. Do I use UPPS on top of UPP? or are they same products just in different forms (liquid, spray)?
2. Do I only put wax (UPPS in this case) or sealant+wax for regular washes?
3. Can I use Klasse AIO instead of Optimum Polish? Do they do the same job? What would you guys prefer?
4. Which step do I repeat for layering? Yes, I've read many threads about layering, but am confused since some products have ability to clean the previous wax? Does that mean if I repeat the step, would it be worthless?
BTW, I'll be using PC 7424. I currently have Meguiar's 3 steps, NXT Tech Wax Paste, NXT Spray Wax. They're all almost new and don't want to throw them away.
If you were me, which of them would save and just use it instead of buying 3 mentioned above? I don't know which one fits into which category. (eg NXT Paste as sealant or wax?)

You could use AIO instead of Optimum polish, but your not going to get any swirl elimination, just a chemical cleaning, and mild protection. UPP could be used atop AIO.
UPP is completely layerable, but seldom needed after the 3rd application. Youll reach a point of diminishing returns if used beyond 3 coats. ALways wait 24 hrs, whats your hurry eh?
The products you currently behold are good, but if you want to take it a step above, then the FS lineup would be a step in the appropriate direction. NXT is a polymer sealant with extreme light cleaning ability. Durability is suspect. Good for OTC though. The spray wax is to NXT as UPPS is to UPP. Although UPPS you can use on its own as well. Im not sure the NXT spray wax is capable of that.
Thanks again, exceldetail! I will get Optimum polish and UPP, but will try to use NXT spray wax on top of UPP, instead of getting Aqua Wax.
BTW, what's FS line you talked about? Is that 3-step thing? Since they're almost new, I'm going to use them on my mother's car. Should I use NXT spray wax on top of 3rd step, which is Carnuba Wax, just to give some more durability? or that little cleaning ability NXT holds will erase the previous wax?
Optimum polish with white pad
UPP with green pad
Wax <----- can I use PC w/ spray wax too? or do people usually use own hands?
