Fading Rim Caps???

I have a 2004 Acura TL and the caps with the acura logo on the rims keeps fading off and it looks terrible, i went to the dealership to have them replaced and now it happend again, not only that but the explanation the service advisor gave us a stupid excuse by blaming it on the car wash. Not only that but i have seen other TL's with the same problem. Anyone else have the same problem or know how i could fix it from fading?

I don't subject my TL to a car wash and I don't have a problem. I wash the rims with the same car wash as the car and it is mild- not caustic. I don't use strong wheel cleaner solutions either. If you keep them clean, you don't need it.

I don't like car washes except for rental cars and POSs.

I will MOVE this thread over to Wash & Wax where more folks can see it that are interested in the general topic. Follow me.

I have noticed with that two of my rim caps are also fading but not with a white color fade. Instead I see a rust color almost like they are rusting around the Acura logo. I wash my car about 1 every other week and use only Eagle One Tire and Wheel Cleaner. The next time I go and visit my dealership I will talk to them about this problem but I'm wondering if anyone else has experience the rusting problem on the caps?
