Strange Stuff on my TL

So I drove (no way to avoid) through a new road construction area

When I got home for the day, both my rear qtr.panels have a collection of small tar bits, white bits of something, etc. stuck on them.

So the question.. whats the best solution to get this stuff off with out rubbing it into the paint surface?

Sounds like what happend to my TL when they put that oily stuff on the road and i had to go to my class, i had to drive very slowly through it but still managed to get that oily tar stuff all over the side of the car... i have no mud gaurds... Well I let it kinda sit so it could dry out for 3 days... ashamed i drove my car to school like that for 3 days...

What i did:
This is how i took the oily tar stuff off my car and the paint wasn't damaged... Get a little bucket that you will never use and hasn't been used before for anything else besides water... go and get about 50 cents in gasoline, the cheap stuff so you won't waste your cash... get a rag or wash cloth and dip it in the bucket with gasoline... and start to rub it off... make sure you don't leave the gasoline on the car for more then 5 minutes so you'll need another bucket of water and another rag or wash cloth so you can wipe it off in about 2 minutes... i'll take a picture of my wheel well so you can see what the stuff looks like... i didn't take it off the wheel well because i was to lazy... but this worked... oh... and wear plastic or rubber gloves or else your hands will smell like gasoline for the next 5 days or so... regardless of what you wash them with... that was my mistake...lol...

If it's on your quarterpanel paint, you can also try using clay to remove the impurities off your paint. Exceldetail's suggestions also works fine but either way, you will need to wash afterwards and apply a coat of wax. There is a sticky thread on claying.

Yeah...no gasoline! Use Bug/Tar remover or clay the car.
