Debadging
Debadging
Hello ALL:
This is my first new thread post... I have a question about debadging. A friend of mine told me that in order to do this, all you need to do is take dental floss, wrap it around the badge, and basially "pull" or cut the sticky foam with the floss. Then follow up with rubbing alcohol to take the rest of the left-over adhesive residue off.
IS THIS TRUE? Can I go out right now, get some rubbing alcohol from the store, and start and finish the job tonight?
Thanks for the help!

If the badge is attached with double sided tape that removal method plus soaking the badge with alcohol should work. Note: some bages have a 'pin' system and when they are removed there are two small holes in the bodywork
isnt it horrible to put alcohol on ure paint?
just get a heat gun.. u can prob pick one up for 20 bucks at home depot...
heat up the badge real nice.. then use the dental floss to get it off once its warm..
should even leave any residue...
like they said.. make sure its just double sided tape and not pin type that wil leave holes...

Warm up badges with hair dryer. Slide fishing line or dental floss behind the badges, slowly work the line through the glue until you cut through it and the badge falls off. Follow up with goo gone or rubbing alcohol to get the gunk leftover. Put on a few new coats of wax.
Brings up 'no matches' for me

I did that exactly. I shaved my badges with dental floss and used goo-gone (is paint safe) to clean the remaining glue. Keep lots of cotton towel handy. While removing the glue if you use the same towel to rub you'll put micro scratches. Clean with Goo-gone and wipe dry DO NOT RUB.
