Dashboard
Dashboard
Hey everyone, I was cleaning the car the other day. And through the countless cleaning supplies in my garage I was finally tempted to try out meguires quick interior detailing mist and wipe. Now my dash is ashy with white residue smears spread across the dash. And I did not even use a lot of the product. I have been scrubbing (not literally) the dashboard with a damp micro fiber cloth for the last couple of days trying to get it off, but nothing. I have ordered 303 and am now waiting for it to arrive. Will this take care of the damage done?
Pics?
303 Makes a cleaner and a protectant. Most people use the protectant to, err, protect but I have heard the cleaner also works well.
The trick for me with 303 is to wipe it on from a cloth (don't spray directly on dash) and then once it is wiped on, follow up with a dry cloth to remove all the excess.
Just out of curiosity, when you went to use the Megs, did you shake it up first? It may have separated if it sat for a long time and only sprayed out one component.

I will keep the thread posted and I'll take pictures tomorrow.

first off all was the spray misted directly onto the dash or onto the towel? If the dash that's were your problem lies! Spray only onto the cloth and fold it over, then unfold and wipe down.
Also you might want to try a mix of water and woolite (10 parts water, 1 part woolite) to try and clean up the dash.

303 (and any other protection type product) must be used on a clean surface to be effective. The cleaners in 303 Space Protectant are very weak.
Clean, apply product to a towel and apply a thin layer, allow to dry and buff surface.
UV protection is a sacrificial / renewable component; this is due to the UV protection layer being degraded by exposure to the elements (sun, sand, road or sea salt, and etc); so it is imperative that you renew it and needs to be re-applied on a regular 45 to 60 day basis (dependent upon location climatic condition)
