Does anybody know what this is? and if it is removable?! I was thinking it was the airbag?

Yes, that's the airbag outline. Search "Ashy dash" for solutions.

Cliffs: vinyl cleaner, then 303 Aerospace Protectant on a towel.

yep, I am now seeing that too, it's the airbag imprint, I think cleaning and conditioning would "hide" it but I guess as the dash age it's starting to show.

Well the dealer "cleaned" it and it came back a few days after. I'm going to have to try this 303 stuff I keep hearing about on here!

You have to maintain your dash or it just comes back.

My theory: The vinyl onthe dash dries/shrinks a bit due to general environmental conditions - especially direct exposure to sunlight and/or UV. This exposes the air bag outline.

The conditioners replace some of the "oils" and fill the space, allowing the vinyl to expand or swell a little. This hides the air bag outline.

Cycle repeats, ad nauseum.

IOW - NOTHING is a "one and done" solution.

It's sold at boating supply stores, such as West Marine. That's where I get mine. Awesome stuff on all your rubber, vinyl and plastic parts. Just don't use it on clear plastic, as it may marr it.

Holy moe, I have the same outline on my 07.......didn't notice it until a couple years ago...so it's the airbag outline, that's unvelievable...anyway, I use Lexol vinyl protectant on the dash and it hides it for a while. Only can see it in certain lighting conditions, however. Wonder how many others have this issue?

Pretty much everybody. See my explanation above.

If you doa REALLY good job keeping protectant on your dash, it may never show up. For the rest of us ....

Yes, for cleaning. Woolite/water is a great interior cleaner.

BUT not for protecting. You need something that restores the dash and protects against UV.

only solution is to take your dash out and paint it with SEM paint

Get a good windshield reflective screen as well for when the car is parked- it protects the dash well. There's a link on Azine about this. Covercraft makes the best type.

How many times have you applied this? You can't just put it on once and expect it to get rid of it. You'll have to keep applying it later down the road and then to preserve the look.

When I had gotten my '07 TL-S, the outline was really bad. I just applied my first session a couple of days ago and it seems to help. I plan to keep doing this every quarter until I no longer see the outline.

First, use a vinyl cleaner and clean off the dash.
Then apply the 303 Protectant by spraying it on a pad, sponge or towel and wiping the dash.
