Collinite 845 Insulator Wax

Anyone ever try Collinite 845 Insulator Wax? The mantra on internet searches are the same: 'This heavy duty wax was specially developed for use by electric power companies for protection against high voltage power failure, fires and explosions.'

I've heard of it only by word of mouth, recommended by a few body/paint guys. Since I just deep cleaned and waxed the finish on my car a week ago (Meguiars Deep Crystal Cleaner/3M Imperial Hand Glaze/Meguiars NXT wax) I bought some and gave it a try. It's recommended using on a clean surface since it is just a wax. I have to admit that it looks great, similar to the NXT, giving a nice wet look. The finish is supposed to last quite a long time though (something that I've never been happy about with Mequiars products). I can say that the day after I applied this, I wiped off some bugs and they slid right off...
Anyhow, I figured I'd pass this on for anyone who is always looking for a new product to try. BTW, I had to ask for it at Advanced Auto since they do not keep it out with the regular wash/wax products.

I believe most of the regs are familiar with Collinite Waxes. Collinite is the exception for a 'nuba because of it's durability and longevity. The 746S is supposed to be detergent proof and often called "The permanent auto wax".

lots of folks back east or on the east coast like it due to its resiliency. Great product, born on the east coast!

I know you tried it, so you already know how great it is, but here is an old thread of my 05 TSX (R.I.P.) with it over Kalsse AIO.

I love 845IW, but it may be because I live in a harsh environment (heat/sun) and the stuff just never quits!

Those pics looked great!Sorry about the car tho....

I did do a quick search and did not see any recent threads about Collinite, so I figured I'd give a nod to it.

I just bought a garage (with a house attached) so now that I am out of an appartment, Iam getting a PC so I can polish, then 845IW. Maybe Nattys blue or NXT on top of the IW, but not sure.

i'd do natty's

NXT has cleaners in it that might comprimise the durablilty of the IW.

Interesting point. I knew NXT (paste) had fillers, but not cleaners. I have done it by hand b4, but not noticed any degredation of the durability of the 845, but since I was waxing monthly then, I probably wouldn't have noticed.

Any place online sell Natty's AND PC pads? (Yes, I am too lazy to seach)

Exceldetail has Natty's as well as pads. There's also some other info on pads in this thread.
