I thought that I posted this question earlier, but apparently, it didn't "take":

I used my PC to apply Mother's Reflections and now I'm having some problems in thoroughly cleaning the pad. What's the best way to clean this?

Thanks!

I found that I couldn't clean out ALL the sealant that was in my PC pad. So I designated that pad as the sealant pad. I still wash it after using it.

A couple ideas:

1) Soak it in a sink with some hot water and woolite mixed in (regular laundry detergent woolite) for a few hours, then rinse and scub with a good brush.

2) If that doesn't do it, put it in the wash on warm with some non-fabric softener detergent then let air dry.

3) If that doesn't do it try a specialized pad cleaner (although at this point it might be just worth tossing it or using it only for that product).

You could always consider applying by hand . I apply all waxes and sealants by hand. It really does not take long at all.

Hi guys. I am having a problem with this too. Part of it is, when I clean them to aggressively or "I squeeze it like I mean it" the velcro on the back starts to seperate. I can eventually get it back on with spray adhesive after they dry. Any way around that? I was told not to put them in the washer but I may give it a shot if you say it's safe.

I agree, I've got a pc, only thing I've used it for is taking out swirls and when I'm really lazy taking off the sealant/wax, usually just do it by hand though. TL isn't that big.

I hear about this a lot but have never experienced it myself. I've got over 30 pads so you would think I would have, it's weird. I wash my pads in the washer quite often, just with some non fabric softener detergent like woolite.

The best cleaner I have used is called "Snappy Clean". It is a citrus based powder designed to clean pads. You pour the powder packet into a 5 gallon bucket and fill about 2/3 with water. Simply massage the pad and it will come clean is seconds. You can purchase this product from a number of online detail sites. I would not recommend any harsh detergents to clean the pads and absolutely do not place them in a dryer.

In all of the years Ive been using a PC, I have yet to deteriorate one when washing with any APC or deteriorate while using.........Just use common sense when polishing and cleaning, its quite simple folks, no rocket science.......

Sounds good. I have a Duet washer which is fairly gentle on things to begin with (God, I can literally hear the testosterone rush from my body as I start bragging about my washing machine). I'll pick up some Woolite while out this morning and run them through on the gentle mode later today. Thanks!

I just use Dawn in a small pail and let the pads soak in hot water for a bit then I squirt a little Dawn directly on the pad and aggitate with my fingers then run cold water to rinse them as I kneed the pad . Once no more soap comes out I roll the pad up to wring it out .. I don't twist the pad .. then I lay them on a wire drying rack velcro side up to dry.
