cleaning the back window

hey guys, my back window is really dirty! there seems to be a layer of film on it or something..i've tried using windex on the inside and outside then wiping down with a microfiber towel or newspaper..then i even used invisible glass...i dont know how to get it off! are my towels not clean enough?

does anyone have a technique that they use and would like to share? it's embarassing driving around with a dirty film and streaks on the back window..also..cleaning it is a pain in the ass! gotta take out the headrests...pull down the seats and reach in there...

help!!

Windex is not a good cleaner for car windows because the ammonia causes streaks. The Invisible Glass should work - are you using clean towels or the same ones after you used the Windex? Not sure if this helps, but maybe try letting the Windex dry for a bit before trying the Invisible Glass as well. These threads speak highly of Invisible Glass and might help:

Sorry I'm not much more help tonight - getting tired. Good luck!

On a related topic, has anybody ever gotten the high rear brake light (on the rear shelf) out? I have the helms manual, and tried using that to remove it, but couldn't pull the housing free from the shelf for the life of me. I want to clean that area right behind it as there's some streaky crap from when I got my windows tinted.

i was having a issue with a cloudy film forming on the rear window, i think it was from driving with all the windows open and all the gel, pomnade, hair spray, murray's, that my friends and I have in our hair getting blown back into the rear window...haha...anyways, invisible glass or whatever it was did a great job cleaning it

3rd brake light removal / workaround

Holy resurrected thread!

I did a search and this was the only thing I could find about cleaning behind the 3rd brake light. I have the exact same problem -- big ugly streaks on the glass that's tucked behind the 3rd brake light housing, where I can't reach them.

Anyone have any tips for getting rid of them? Or tips for removing the 3rd brake light in general?
