Checking your work - UV flashlight

Ok at this point, I really want to be able to check my work as I go.

A couple suggestions were made, one of which was to go with a UV flashlight.

Just wanted to get some feedback about this, and wanted to ask where I might find one?

(is this something I can buy at Pep Boys?)

thanks

Many people like the Brinkmann Dual Xenon Spotlight. I got mine at Pepboys.

Thanks JM.

In my never-ending process of demonstrating I'm a detailing idiot, I got it wrong. Pat didn't say UV flashlight. He said LED light.

I guess I've been watching too much Blade.

Anyways, here are the LED's at Sears:

I also found the Brinkman, and it has very good reviews:

Question - do these also help in taking photos of your work?

Yeah they do... you just have to focus on something on the paint (ie, a scratch, a door gap, a finger (print) etc) and not the actual reflection.

From what I've read, the Brinkmann is better for swirls / scratches and the LEDs are better at spotting buffer trails / holograms.
