How much hp is recommended to get adequate cleaning suction from a car vacuum?

I have a metro vac-n-blo. It has 4hp. It has excellent suction power. Much better than my craftsman shop vac.

Thanks. I was looking at a Sears Craftsman shop vac with 1.75hp which is apparently woefully inadequate....

Well I wouldn't say it's inadequate. I still like and use my shop vac. It still has good suction power and cleans the car well. I just think the metro vac is better suited for my car duties. Either way you get a good machine. I think metro vac was like 180ish. I can't recall what I paid for shop vac a few years back. Gl.

x2

Go to your local Home Depot and pick up a Rigid WD4050.

I would upgrade to the pro hose for an extra $37.
