Bugs!!

Hey guys. I've had bug guts and everything before and cleaned them right away. But there's a lot that won't come off on my front bumper and mirrors!! What can I use to get this stuff off!!?? I swear, as much as I wash my car now, with those damn bugs stuck on, it will never look clean again. :'(

Next time you wash your car, try soaking the bugs for a while with the soap and see if it loosens them up. If that doesn't work, I'd move to a bug and tar remover to get them off. After you've removed as much as you can, clay the affected areas (using lots of lubrication) and hopefully that will remove the last traces of any bugs. Remember to wax or seal your car again afterwards, hopefully that will make it easier to get the bugs off next time.

I searched and saw that you could use some WD40 and it won't remove the sealer, only wax? Does anyone have any experience with WD40? Should I spray it directly on the buggy areas and let it soak then wash it off? Or wash it off immediately? Or spray it on a rag and start wiping?

get some of that bug off spray, or just get your chenille wash pad and scrub them off with soap. It works on the really tuff ones also, or you could use clay.

Some of the suggestions were already made but go the least aggressive route and if it doesn't work, go more aggressive.

1) When washing your car, get a towel and soak it in warm water and plavce over the affected areas with bugs and let it sit to soften and wash off the bugs. See the Sticky Thread on washing techniques for to do it properly without creating scratches or spiderwebbing
2) if that doesn't work, try a bug remover, follow directions on the can. You should wax the car after using bug remover also.
3) if that doesn't get it all out, clay the car (see sticky thread on how to) and then follow with a polish and wax/sealant

A friend of mine who works at Acura and paints cars for a living told me that during love bug season here in Florida, you can spray Pam on your front bumper and the bugs will not stick to your bumper. It's not the best option, but permanent bug damage sucks a whole lot more! Try that!
