Brake Dust

Hi all,
Any suggestions on how to get some residual brake dust that has built up over the nearly 18 months that I've had my TSX. It only appears on the front wheels and deep in the creases of the wheels. Any other suggestions on ways to repel future brake dust. I've been using some kind of wheel cleaner that claims to repel brake dust but it could be snake oil...who knows!
TIA

I clean my rims when I wash my car. I have a rim brush I use and soap it up good and clean the whole wheel and then rinse it off. After I am done washing ym car I let my rims dry and then use some Eagle One Nevr-Dull wading polish and massage it into the rims and let it sit for a while so it can haze over and dry. I then wipe that off will a diaper cloth and the wheels look awesome!

BTW the wading polish does help a little to repel brake dust, but there is not much out there that will truly repel brake dust. Just have to stay on top of cleaning them so they look their best.

Give them a shot of a synthetic sealant after cleaning, you'll find the dust washes off with the greatest of ease. Wheels are one of the harder items to maintain....

Stubborn brake dust- Power Wheel Cleaner (http://www.topoftheline.com/) even though it does not contain harsh acids, it dissolves the adhesive that is mixed with the brake dust. (This is why brake dust is so difficult to remove.) Just spray on wheels and tires, agitate with brush if needed, and hose-off. Don't worry if you accidentally spray your vehicle's body, it will not harm the paint.

What would be a good "synthetic sealant"? Where would I get some?

Thanks for the other suggestions all....I'm already kissing that residual brake dust away

Anything will help, but plain ole wax wont last more then a few weeks on wheels. Need to use something like Zaino or Klasse AIO.

Apply a protective product, a polymer is recommended (Klasse All-In-One or ZoopSeal) (http://www.autogeek.net) as it has a higher melting temperature (350oF+) compared to Carnauba wax (185oF+/- ) as a wheel surface will reach a temperature in excess of 120oF due to rotor friction and in excess of 195oF when parked in the sun.

I use what I seal the car with, be it Blackfire, Poorboys EX-P or Ultimate Paint Protection.....Or some or one of the popular Spray sealants, like Optimum and Four Star.

This is where I use up my old can of Liquid Glass sealant. Great on the wheel clearcoat and BD washes off with water and car wash soap.

Liquid Glass,Klasse, Zaino and Insulator wax iare also great for keeping brake dust at bay.
If you use a chemical wheel cleaner be sure and re apply the sealant.
