wax problem

i just applied a coat of meg's scratch x, and then a coat of nxt. and for the past couple of waxes after my final wipe, ive been getting like swirl marks where the wax just was like it doesnt come off.
i use the turtle wax buffer with terry cloth pads. no matter how much i try to remove the marks they just smear and get worse....i have a blk 01 cl-s

its hard to tell in the pic but, that line you see...thats what happens when i just wipe across it with a cloth, after i buffed it.. any suggestions?

my first thought was humidity, and water vapor was falling on the car and causing the smearing, but today was dry and cooler. so......im out of suggestions. anybody?

It's been recommended to let the NXT sit for about 15 minutes allowing the product to bond with the surface. Then I'll hand wipe the haze with a MF towel lightly sprayed with a QD. This will eliminate residual dusting and streaking. If you find the product hard to remove or starts streaking, you're probably using too much product. You shouldn't need to use force during product removal. I would recommend getting some MF towels for this purpose.

i use the buffer with a terry cloth pad,i apply product to entire car, so it sits for about 10-15min. and put the buffmaster on the car and let it do its thing. i dont press with force, for the fact that im scared to press to hard and leave swirls.

so are you saying to buff off the product with the terry, and then final wipe with MF,or remove product with the MF?

and do you spray the QD on the MF, or on the car and then polish her up?
thanks for the help, im sort of a when it comes to detailing

Let's see.......

It sounds like you may not have removed all of the ScratchX. How are you applying the product and removing it? ScratchX needs to be worked in using a 100% USA cotton towel. Remember the product has tiny abrasives that need to be worked in to eliminate the high and low edges of the scratches/swirls. Also, only a small area should be worked at a time (no more than a 12"x12" area). It should take you several hours to complete your car for this step. Buffing off with a good microfiber towel is also a good idea.

NXT paste/liquid wax should not be caked on the car. A thin layer is the best method. Two to Three layers at most. Any more and you are only wasting product. All you will get is more work to remove it. How long are you waiting to put on the next coat of NXT? I usually wait at least 8-12 hours before applying the next coat. Longer if the temperature is cold. I would not use a QD to help remove the NXT. NXT is extremely easy to remove, with a microfiber towel, if your paint is properly cleaned and polished.

What type of buffer is a turtle wax buffer? Is it a random orbital or rotary type of machine? What speed were you using? If it is a rotary type of machine then that could be the cause of your scratches. Also, if the terry cloth pad clogs up with product then that could cause scratches. The best tool for removing NXT is your HAND with a microfiber towel or a dual action polisher such as the Porter Cable 7424 with a microfiber bonnet covering a course polishing pad(stiff foam).

Whew!........

i do the scratch-X a section at a time. and apply with a foam applicator with the cloth cotton, you can buy at anywhere. but i dont wait very long to then apply the NXT i usually apply it within 10-15min of finishing the whole car.

i didnt say that i am scratching the car and putting swils in it , i am trying to remove them from the previous owner, and i applied scratchX once and then NXT, and it did a pretty decent joc but didnt remove the comletely so i thought id give it anothert shot. and this result comes out every time i wax it.

heres my buffer it has only on speed, i think it or orbittal? it doesnty go in a complete circle. i use Vikings terry cloth pad to remove everything, bought at autozone.
