what remains to be seen is how the increased the shine so much without using oils.

as everyone knows - oil is what gives extreme shine - but doesnt last on the surface of your car . . . . thats the trade off between wax and polymer . . .

a depth of shine (as claimed by some) can only be obtained by carnuba and oils . . .

my shine looks pretty deep - but whats deep?

i'll be interested to see how it turns out - especially the longevity of it . . .

i'm sure there are people who are going to try it right away - it is creating quite a little buzz in internet car care circles . . .

Since I live 4 miles away from Classic Motoring, I picked up the $49.99 this past Thursday. Satuday, I washed, clayed (Mothers), and applied 1 coat each of the polish and protection.

Pictures pending untill I can borrow my friend's digicam, all I can say is: WOW! The stuff's the real deal.

I'll work on the posting some pictures tomorrow...

Have you used Zaino? If so, how would you compare Blackfire to Zaino?

I just got my Blackfire...going to apply it tomarrow. Isn't the whole point of Blackfire to have multiple polymers in the polish so it doesn't create an artifical shine? Advanced testers says it gives the shine of a carnbula wax...

I placed my order today for some BLACKFIRE products. I only ordered the CARWASH SHAMPOO & 3 bottles of the DEEP GLOSS SPRAY. I use the same type of product from ZAINO & its the best stuff I have used sofar. I just ordered ZAINO polish a few months ago & did not put it on. I will do the whole clay ,clean process next spring. I have been using the ZAINO CARWASH & GLOSS ENHANCER for over a year now. I ordered the BLACKFIRE DEEP GLOSS SPRAY to see if its better than the ZAINO #Z7 GLOSS ENHANCER. I use the ZAINO #Z7 to keep my car cleaner longer without the use of water. It also repels dust from the car with its antistatic formular. The BLACKFIRE DEEP GLOSS SPRAY claims to do the same type of thing. This product cost $14.95 per bottle the #Z7 ZAINO is $9.95 per bottle. I will see when my order gets here what this stuff can do on a NIGHTHAWKBLACK car.

Infamuz - I found Blackfire to be very similar in feel and shine to Zaino, but as advertised it is slightly less reflective and darkens the color a little (sort of like Z5 darkens only more noticible).

I love the look on my ABP, but unfortunately winter has arrived in Minnesota and I have suffered some setbacks to my cars appearance.

I think I made an error in taking my car through a touchless car wash, and the detergents removed my Blackfire. Probably the same thing would happen with Zaino, but I have no winter experience with Z... Since it was relatively nice here today, I re-washed (by hand) and re-applied Blackfire paint protection. I will try to maintain by hand-wash at the local self-serv car wash and see if it holds up better with a less aggressive detergent.

updates -

1) I re-applied the paint protection, and subsequently only used hand wash. The look seemed to be much better maintained although we have been mainly snow free since.

2) I re-did the whole process, wash - polish - protect with Blackfire, and then topped it with Zaino (Z2). WOW! This is a beautiful look. Hope it lasts

I take mine through the touchless washes all winter - and by spring it is still bouncing the water and pretty shiny under that film that touchless washed leave behind.

Then again - I do have about 10-15 coats come winter - maybe that helps . . . but on average - 2-3 well applied coats of zaino will take you through a winter....

A Toronto winter anyways

Thats good news Homer2. I'm hoping the Zaino is a little more tolerant of the slop (and from the weather predictions I am about to find out).
