bird droppings, how to clean?

Has anybody used this product? I plan to use it to clean bird droppings, tree saps, and all that.

DC1 is a chemical cleaner used for removing oxidation and restoring gloss and reflectivity. It can also be used as a pre-wax cleaner to prep the surface before applying a protective layer of wax/sealant. The best way, IMO is a wet towel placed over the affected areas and let it saturate/dwell over the affected areas for about 10-15 minutes. Use another moistened towel to wipe the area and follow with a QD or a Spray Wax. Because of the acidic nature of bird crap this needs to be done ASAP especially if you don't have adequate protection. The droppings may etch the paint creating more problems. I'm sure will have other options.

Always make sure your surface is clean (washed/dried) before using any product of this type......

I use my meguiars new QD after I have saturated the area with it or water or both and then usually use one MF towel to wipe off and then another with more QD to finish the job.

Bird poop will eat right through any sealant or Nuba, make sure you slap some protectant on afterwards.
Also while removing, make sure you "roll" the MF in an upward technique while wiping...This will prevent any further marring...

I have a travel kit in my car .. in it is a few M/F towels .. some QD, a spritzer with a little Kalsse AIO and a small plastic jug ( used to be a vinegar jug ) filled with distilled water. If I get crapped on on the road I wet a towel and lay it on the area and let it soften the crud if it has dried then use the "roll up" method above to remove it. The reason I use Distilled is if its a dark car on a hot day tap water may water spot. Distilled has no minerals.

If its a fresh one I use the QD to tidy it up .. if a little older I apply a little AIO to the area and re-apply sealant at home.

The key is get it off fast. I have had stuff sit over nite and not a problem I have had etching after 5 min. Depends on the bird and if he ate at McDonalds recenty.

So what is the best way to get rid of etching from bird droppings? I had one that I got off as soon as I noticed but it was apparently too late. I can see etching if I look at the right angle.

polish with a machine will be the best method, but if you dont have a machine, then get some meguiars scratch x and a foam pad and try that....should polish out easy if its not too deep....

Bill, your going to have to simply level the paint to remove the etching. Its one of those "damned if I do, damned if I dont"......If you do, you remove clear coat. If you dont, you have to live with the unsightliness.
Try a little paint cleaner or light abrasive polish at the affected area, then reseal. Its that basic. Then reseal.
