Armor All window wipes suck

I just bought the armor all window wipes in response to this thread because they haven't commented on it yet: http://www.acura-tsx.com/forums/show...indow+cleaning I just have to say that it sucks, I don't know if it is the TSX window glass or what. It leaves smudges and other strange streaks. It smells like windex though but I wouldn't trust windex on my auto glass.

I wanted to know what other products you guys use for the inside of your windows, I don't have a problem with the outside, I can get it crisp and clean after a good wash but the inside is what i'm concerned about. At night when light hits it a certain way, it is hard to see if there are smudges on the inside of your windows.

i've been using rainex antifogging wipes and they've been ok. if you do a nice circular pattern they don't streak or smudge. don't know how well they anti-fog as I've only used them in warm weather so far.

I simply use a wet/damp terry cloth towel to clean the window, then grab a microfiber towel to dry it off. Kinda like doing the outside, meaning, it will take a few wipes back and forth, but all the streaks come off w/ the towel. I never use any products on the inside of my windows. The most I do outside is use a coat of wax every now and then so I don't have to use wipers when driving.

THere is something about the glass in the TSX that makes it more difficult than usual to clean. Its a bitch. I started a thread a while ago on this.

I use 50:50, water:rain-x mixture on the outside. I use water in a spray bottle on the inside. Works great for me. However, I also have success with Stoners Invisible Glass on the outside also.

Would an ArmourAll wipe do this?

Noticed a smokey/hazy water mark on my main instrument gauge plastic. I think it comes from Armour All cleaner towels I used in one of those post wash "everything is perfect, Oh there is some dust" touch ups. I've tried several glass cleaners, micro fine towels, and even spit and it just isn't coming off.

Any thoughts on how to fix this.

I hope its not a scratch or a scrape...

No it isn't a scratch or scrape. I learned the hardway with my old Civic about damage to the soft plastic cover.

I still haven't removed the "whatever it is" but I have found that a light wipe of baby oil turns it clear and nearly unoticeable. Not my final solution but a good interum. I found the same trick masks small scratches that accumulate.

I have cut back on my use of armor all car wash wipes as well. Although it states they are safe for clear coat, it seems like they took off the wax gradually(the shine would disappear faster than expected etc) now i get it washed at a local place every few weeks that makes it really shine and only use these wipes very sparingly.

Glad to hear you take your car to the local car wash too. I have all the respect in the world for the DIY folks and for those who follow like religion all the recommendations of the various car wash threads. I enjoy washing my car too. But there is a point at which my life prevents me from being so obsessive. I've checked out local washes and found one that is nearly touchless. After several washes I've detected no paint damage. So while I prefer to do it myself for the pleasure of it, I do live my life too <g>.

I agree. They even say "NO STREAKS!" on the bottle. All I got was streaks and smudges on my glass. No more ArmorAll products for me.
