Haha...that's funny. I have 100+ coats. Can't wait till Spring. Gonna SMR the whole car and start over. Learned a lot with the multiple coats I have. Must make it better.

Gotta figure out how to get those darn swirls off! My trunk and spoiler is full of them!!! Must have been the dealer when they put on the spoiler....rest of the car looks fine.

I only put like 2 or 3 coats of Z5....didn't really do much on the rear trunk. Must put more!

You guys are incredible...even 50 coats is a way off for me! Only 12 coats total since last August. If I can just find the time....

The most I've put on in one day is only 3. For me to put on 50 coats, would take me about 16 days......

well the summertime is by far the most "cramming" of Z'ing i do...on the weekends i do it...since i get up so early for work, sleeping til 7AM on a Sat & Sun is like sleeping in ...so i get up and do my 3 coats of ZFX, so by like 11 or 12, i'm ready to go...6 coats a weekend really adds up over the course of a summer

if yer doin it by hand, don't even bother...i spent 7 hours last summer doin the whole car, and i got mediocre results

if u get yer hands on an orbital, u'll b in much better shape

I've put on about 9 coats 3 per day x 3 days within a week. The problem after about 9 coats -- for me -- is it gets so "slick" that I need to wash the car or let it sit out in the sun to put some more coats on.

There are some issues that, IMO, should be addressed regarding "how many coats have you done?" Washing and time make the Zaino thin out and if I counted all of my coats over 2+ years on the CLS, I'd have about 50 coats. However, I think it is probably the equivalent of 20-30 (done at one time -- recently). I went for about 3-4 months without adding any and noticed that the "Teflon effect" was going away. In the last three to four months, I've added eight to nine coats, pre week, with a week or two break in between “fat boy” sessions (2-3 coats/session times 3 sessions over a week or two period). If I don't drive the car a lot in the day (for some dirt pick-up and heat bake) and/or give it a wash with Z7 it just seems to get way too slick (you can add more coats, but it sure seems easier with a wash and a week or two break.).

My opinions expressed, but at one point I tried 3 sessions in a row -- (3x3 coats over 3 days -- and the last coat had to go on pretty thick to get it to "stick."

Oh hell no, would never use SMR by hand. I can only imagine what your forearms felt like after that.

I've had a Porter Cable orbital for a few years and use it a lot on my wife's old Integra.
