About to place an order with excel...

What to get? I have a 2007 TL type S NBP. I have washed it by hand quite a few times but now joined the site and see there is much much more to it. Lets start with the bare essentials for now.... I just want to do a simple wash so what do I need for that? I will pick up stuff to do a clay and wax later but for now...? In my cart right now I have the monterrey waffle weave, riptide blue waffle weave, medium sheepskin washmit, excel aquaclear optical glass towel, and 303 protectant for the dash. I will pick up gold class soap and 2 buckets from the auto parts store. What else do I need for now? Excel can you chime in? Thanks for the help i'm a noob sorry!

I found them on your site but most kits look like they come with a ton of polishing towels which I already have. Can you point me in the right direction? I would PM you but i'm a new member and I can't send PM's yet. Thanks for your help.

Well by the looks of it, all you might need is an all in one type of polish/protectant?
You could go with DG 105, einszett Metallic Polish or Optimum PoliSeal.

Cool i'll add the Duragloss 105 in with my order. Is that something you need the machine buffer to apply or hows it applied and removed? Just like a wax?

I've been reading a lot about the DG105... So my car has never been clayed and has only gotten cheap spray waxes before winter and after winter. It's pretty dirty now and i'm looking forward to giving it a good cleaning when I get my stuff. I have megs gold class soap so I plan on washing it, drying it and applying DG105. Is this a good plan or am I missing a step? Is it a good idea to apply the DG105 or am I missing other steps? I would imagine my paint is pretty contaminated since it's never been polished, clayed or had a hand wax. Would the DG105 be okay for now until I clay and hand wax next month?

That's what I was thinking as I kept reading more and more. Any particular recommendations for OTC clay kits? Walmart by my place has the Meguiars smooth surface clay kit which has 2 clay bars, lube spray and a MF for ~$15. Is that a decent kit for my application? Again, I appreciate the replies patrick!

Thats a real light grade clay, and being as yours has never seen a clay before, It may require something a tad stronger. BUT.......GET IT and proceed before polishing....Its benefits (even if its not abarasive enough) are HUGE.

Patrick what is a good OTC clay, I have some white specs on the wife's new Odyssey which I beleive are overspray, I use the meguiars but it didn't take them off. any suggestions. I was able to remove a few of the spots with my fingernails but that is not going to work for the amount of spots that are there. (just take too damn long)

Most OTC brands are relatively close in nature. I would hate for you to try the two best known OTC brands (Megs/ Moms) and not have luck. Theres the possibility of getting 3M (top $), Meguiars and of course Clay Magic.....

Well, the 303 is awesome, the dg105 is spectacular and the waffle weaves are pretty sweet too. The surf city beyond black tire stuff isn't all that good but it's okay... Thanks patrick!
