7 hours with the orbital buffer and some wax= wow
the wife bought the 4runner used in feb and i was dreading the waxing since it is a petty big vehicle. so i woke up this morning and said "the hell with it"
the final coat of wax is Touch of Class from meguires. this stuff looks just as good as the other mequires stuff

how'd you manage not getting any swirls?

1st i use a crappy wax and used but clean white hanes t shirt and clean each section of sheetmetal, to get all the tar and little black spots off.
then i use the orbital(cheap $40 one from wallly world) to apply the good wax with a terry cloth pad. i then use a clean cloth to wipe off good wax.
then i use a clean terry cloth pad to clean up what i missed with the cloth
it also helps to polish the surface to prep for the last pad.
the next step is to use a pad that is real furry( i can never remember the name of it)
this does the final polishing
i also wax the windows during the process. this helps to prevent water spots from really setting in until i have a good chance of cleaning the windows.
the very last step is to use a clean cloth(hanes t shirt) and dust off the vehicle.
the wax was ont the truck for about an hour before i wiped it off. and it wasnt really a problem.
this even works on dark vehicles
AND i was in the sun all day in the 95 degree heat with no shade

That is a nice rig. If I had to have a SUV...that would be it.
