How does this compare to the GG Polisher? After reading many reviews I see that the GG DA is much more popular on the detailing forums. The lifetime warranty sounds really good too.

Does anyone have experience with both and which one they recommend?

BTW, I might be selling my PC7424XP which is brand new still in box including the 5" backing plate. Check the BM if interested.

^Thanks, I don't know how I missed your recent thread.

Seems like the GG is superior to the PC7424XP in power, noise and warranty.

Just looking for something that will ship quickly... If not maybe ill order a pad and buy a backing plate from pep boys or something, I think ill just the route of doing a one step polish with SRP since ive never used this thing before
Just keep it simple, www.auto-geek.net it literally has a section devoted to the porter cable.

The weight is for the size of backing plate that it came with.

The noise .. was it when it was free spinning or on the paint surface?

Don't have holograms in the paint, spent quite some time practicing for 2 years on junkyard parts before I even touched my own car.

So yeah, no holograms when you read directions and do hand on training.

Besides a porter cable is for those who want to spend more than 6 hours on a car, as long as you use the right pad there will be no holograms, I am not ignorant... besides my porter cable that i bought used still get used for trivial stuff, like putting on sealants and waxes.
