This is the most miles I can remember on a TL
What have the major repairs been along the way?
Please try and post some pictures if you can.
FYI tranny rebuild is approx $2000. I did mine a while back and have added ~60K mi since then without any problems.

2008 Base TL with Tech Package. I'm the original owner--bought it brand new off the lot.
29,580 miles. Everything on the car still original (brakes, tires, belts, hoses, etc) with the exception of the recall on the PS hose. Car rides like new. Never been in the shop for anything except the PS hose recall.

I havent been driving it as much now that I have my drift car project. That car also doubles as my "work" vehicle as I need to put large things, dirty things, and just generally bad stuff for interior. I love the looks people give me though. But yeah thats been taking a lot of the miles off the TL for now.

yep! Only a few problems with it like 1 of the 2 blue ambient LEDs on the ceiling between the two lights is out. I took it out and don't see anything wrong with the board. I had to disconnect the HFL because it kept killing the battery. no biggie since I never used it anyway....
The one thing that might be a bit more serious is a burning smell that comes from the back-left (when you're at the front of the car looking at the windshield) of the engine area. Looked over it like crazy, including when I had it up on the ramps changing the oil and filter. Had the Acura people look at it when the PS recall was being done. Had maybe 5 or 6 people looking at it and no one knows what it is. Used a fiberoptic camera to look back there and a long-handle mirror. oh well. If it blows up when I'm in it at least I won't have to worry about the resale value.

At 159.9k.
I just got it from my mom as she got a camry. I did the ECU reset... totally worth it, slamming the gas is fun,
It's dented up on the rear panel, and the front has some curb rash in the bottom right, and the leather for the car seats is fubar, but I still love it. Mechanically, it's all fine. Only normal wear and tear minus the HFL issues. That got us into a problem with replacing the alternator, battery, finally finding out the problem, and having the HFL crap itself within 4 days. Had to get the free replacement overnighted as it was the only car at the time.

2005 Base TL w/99,900 miles. Bought it w/97,000 for $7,800. Did the 3×3 drain w/Redline D4 and oil change w/Amsoil Signature Series Syn. 0W20 w/Purolator filter. Ordered the trans.switches but some POS stole the FedEx pckg. Put in new set of Denso Iridium Power spark plugs. Lucked out, bought it in June and the XM sat radio is working for free. Gonna throw some 18's on her and remove the scratches and dents. Thinking bout the timing belt Firestone says $850. The like new camel interiior w/anthracite grey paint sealed the deal.

I'm the second owner of a 2005 TL W navigation. Bought from auction in 2010 with 83k miles and currently has 135k miles. Original trans and engine, no major issues at all. Just wear and tear of brakes wheels tires etc. Great overall car but terrible mpg. Currently in the market for a bigger car, bmw 328gt most likely. I'll keep the TL as a back up car tho.

I get about 12-16 mpg mixed doing 85%/15% local/highway. all highway the best i've ever gotten was maybe 25mpg but it goes down right after i start driving local. I have a roof rack but even before i installed it I always had terrible mpg. my friend that had the 3g also had bad mpg back then too :/

My car (for details see my signature) running on 93 octane gas gets about 29-30 on the highway, but on a recent roadtrip through mountainous terrain, it only got about 27 mpg straight-highway. In mixed daily driving (60%/40% local/hwy), I get about 19-21 mpg, but I drive relatively gently in the suburbs.

Wow. OK, that's pretty low mpgs, even if you're gunning it from every stop. But it does seem within "normal" range of the vehicle, even when accounting for differences in driving styles, condition of equipment, grade of gas, etc., esp. if you're in stop-and-go traffic in a dense urban area like Brooklyn/NYC.

that's pretty good, wish I got those #s haha. but hey the good thing about this car is relatively low cost maintenance. Surprised I've had it for over 7 years already. Did the timing belt/water pump service for about $400 at hamilton honda at 85k miles, a bit early but the deal was too good to pass up at the time.
Were I in your shoes, I'd have the upstream O2 Sensors replaced with new OEM or Denso units; whatever you do, do not buy Bosch sensors.
Final comment, while I hate throwing parts at problems, there is a growing trend for O2 sensors to get lazy, regardless of vehicle manufacturer, the thing is, while they can get lazy enough to screw up fuel economy, they aren't so lazy as to throw a code.

Your mileage looks horribly low; I typically get 25 in Boston area traffic, 28 with a 60/40 Highway/Urban mix, and 33+ on long road trips.

What is your maintenance cycle?
Did anyone use seafoam after they purchased their car, and did it make a difference?
Before I change my spark plugs I make sure to seafoam it to watch the black clouds of smoke. Wondered if the clouds happen after every application, so I tried seafoamed my TL again after 5k miles and there was no smoke. Not sure how much it helps though.

Nope, while I'm not an annoying "all over the road" driver I'm typically one of the quickest moving cars on any given road.
By the book; oil changes roughly every 7,500 miles.
IMHO, Seafoam is nothing but a wallet lightening elixir; it does little if any good for an engine.

Just rolled 88.5k and starter solenoid went on me this weekend. Luckily it happened after getting home from a 400mile day trip. Got in the car next morning, turned the key and just heard one "click" and nothing happened. Couple more times and the starter finally turned over the car. Swapped in a new starter and we're back in business.

Still rolling strong. Cost me around 11k. New clutch, drive (serp) belt, new fluids, calipers, pads, rotors. Rides like a dream. Did notice road noise and shaky steering wheel. I think the tires are causing the noise (cheap brand). I may upgrade to Michelin or something close. I gotta do some more inspecting to see what's causing the wheel shake

Original owner here with an 05 TL Manual 6 Speed factory A-SPEC black on black, purchased new from Acura of Pleasanton, CA. 128k miles and going strong. No major issues to report, all maintenance up to date (all belts, pulley, water pump, oil pump seal - while in there maintenance) performed.

'08 TL-S auto currently at ~153,000. I'm the second owner. I bought it from my sister when it was about 50k. I've had a few major problems that I can't remember all right now, but off the top of my head . . . radiator replaced, power steering hose, rear main seal leak, spark plugs replaced twice, timing belts etc changed at 100k, a laundry list of other things. I think I'm on my . . . fourth (?) set of tires. Should be mechanically perfect right now, but a lot of wear and tear.

2006 TL - Original Owner, daily driver
230,000 miles
Had transmission rebuilt at 212,000 when at a stop light and it turned green it popped when I hit the gas (normally, I didn't stomp on it.)
Other than some dead LED interior lights running strong.

'06 TL Auto - I am second owner bought with 17K miles. I am currently at 130K with few major issues and tranny still going strong. Timing belt and motor mounts and plugs at 100K. Normal maintenance otherwise. HFL module and Nav DVD drive have been dead for a few years now.

I got a 2005 base TL running 198K with no engine problems except previous owner had the transmission rebuilt and that failed on me so now I have a brand new fully built transmission running Redline performance fluid other than the transmission no problems car runs great VTEC is still strong as ever.

2007 TL-S. Just crossed 200,000 miles today. The car runs great and has no issues with the car what's so ever. Just doing the regular maintenance. oil change at 7500K, 3x3 transmission fluid @ 30K interval, brakes and tires when they wear out. Looking forward to reach 300K in 5 more years!

2005 TL just passed 308,000
I bought it new, had it the whole time. Always used Mobil1 Synthetic every 8,000 miles, engine runs GREAT! 30 mpg on highway still.
400,000 should be easy and my goal is 500,000.

2006 TL with just 70k miles from new. Get about 25 to 27 mpg when mostly traveling on the highway at 65 - 80 mph. Can get about 30 mpg when I keep it at 60 - 65. When mostly sticking around town it's about 19 -20 mpg. I'm not as lead footed as i used to be. Due for timing belt and water pump and accessory belt and spark plugs this month. Maybe my milage will increase back up about 1 mpg to where it used to be when newer. I run Castrol Full Synthetic. Still on the original brakes.

250,000 on my '07. Still running well....shooting for 300,000 in 2 years.

just crossed over 175,000 km, all the maintenance is accounted for besides the pressure switches. Looking forward to another 175k problem free kms.
