DRL Bulb only for DRL?
I find this weird....
I realize that when you use low-beam or high-beam.. it all comes from the projector.... so what is the use of the middle light... only for DRL? (i am in canada btw)

the HIDs have a shutter in them that opens when the highs are turned on. The acutal voltage of the bulb is never increases. The projectors are meant to open up more so highs can be turned on, so they must be engineered to that standard, so they souldn't be obtaing any damage.

Yeah but there is huge burst of power from the ballast required for ignition of the light. I'm sure if you used flash-to-pass a lot it's not gonna last in the long run. Plus the bulbs have a warm up period, you can notice how the bulb color temperture changes at startup.
If you had to use it, I'd flash at longer intervals...(i.e. don't rapidly flash, maybe pull the turn stalk for a couple seconds at a time and no shorter. And don't flash more than a couple times.)
I like to use flash to pass as well and I've been so used to flashing so fast it looks like a strobe. It freaks some dumb drivers they pull real fast thinking I'm a cop at 1st glance. Guess I can't do that anymore with my TL.
