FOB linked Climate Control
I didn't see anything about this while searching here...the manual says that the Auto Climate Control is linked to Driver's #1 FOB and Driver #2 FOB. However I don't see how to set it to the preferred settings for each Driver. AND...in summer I would want AC set to (perhaps) 72, but in cooler seasons, I would not use AC... I'm sure I am just thinking this too deeply....
Any help?
There is soo much about this wonderful vehicle I still don't know. The manual is very big.
Thanks!

Hmmm. So you mean what ever climate control setting I was s=using when i first set the seat memory is what it will revert to every time I use my FOB to enter the car? Hmm.. not sure this is working, as It seems like it stays on what ever setting I was using the last time I shut the car off. Will have to play with this some this weekend. Anyone have any other thoughts?

So, went out to breakfast this morning, and realized (dummy me!) that I have not yet used the AUTO setting on the Climate Control (I have only had the RDX just over a month) . Thinking this through, it has to be in AUTO mode for the FOB specific Climate Control Memory to work. I generally only use the AUTO setting in Summer, but I will set it later today when we are out, then re-memorized the position 1 memory, and give it a try and report back.
Now I wonder what else is linked to the memory settings? seats, side mirrors, Climate Control....various other behaviors like walk away auto lock, auto door lock and unlock, audio system settings?... Is there a list, I wonder?

After having a very rare snow event here last week, we had near 80 degrees today! So I tried the auto climate control. Set to 72 degrees, AUTO, and tried to memorize by using the memory buttons on the door. My seats and mirrors had been previously saved. I then set it to 69 degrees and shut off the car and went into Home Depot. Upon reentering, and starting the car, it was still at 69 degrees I am not sure if I did this right, or if anyone has any idea if this is even a real function of our RDXs...It is mentioned in the manual.
It's really not a big deal, just wondering if it works, if so it might be a useful feature.

You're right, it is in the manual - page 231:
The thing I noticed is that's the page about 'recirculating' versus 'fresh air' mode and it could be a reference to that setting based on the driver. Something to think about and play with.
When you unlock the doors with your remote, the
driver’s ID (DRIVER 1 or DRIVER 2) is detected, and
the climate control settings are turned to the
respective mode automatically when you set the
power mode to ON.

It will remember the last climate control setting for the specific driver. For example, if driver 1 turns off the car with CC set at 68, then driver 2 uses the car and changes it to 72, when driver 1 returns to the car, it will go back to 68. Memory buttons are not used to set CC, it just remembers the last setting for each specific driver.

(I didn't see anything close to this in the manual, but admittedly, I didn't read the whole thing)

Having re-read the manual....This is what the manual says:
It's perfectly clear now. Thanks again samin_68!

- As you approach, the RDX detects which remote you have and automatically sets your preferred climate-control settings.

Perhaps some day we will be able to control our own personal "climate" with a hand held FOB?
Yes, I know the difference between climate and weather, but for this conversation......
Wait minute, are you saying changing the POLITICAL "climate" wow, so many different interpretations of words!
Don't think we really want to get political. :-)

I remember when most manuals for products from "over seas", were translated very poorly into English. (maybe even from the UK? ) That doesn't seem to be the case as much anymore.
Hmmm, Acura is from the US, I wonder how much input the staff in Japan has on the manual, a lot of the components are common across Honda products, after all.
After writing this, I'm not sure Madd Dog was referring to me.
