Hey guys,
transmission gave out and I need it up and running for a good price.
Stealership quoted me at roughly 5,500 which is half the cars value...

Does anyone know any well accredited rebuilders they recommend in the area? I live in Rockwall but am willing to have it towed if its worth the recommendation.

I live in the HEB area and had mine done by a guy in Irving but I wouldnt recommend him.
It only cost me $1000 but he has had the car for 1 month each time trying to fix it right.
I would recommend a place called Drivers Edge in Plano. My buddy took his kids jeep there and the replaced it in 3 days for $2500 with a 3 yr warranty.
I have a year on mine but like I said I am still not totally comfortable with it...
Let me know where you end up and what you pay etc.. I may be needing it..

Appreciate the information man! Hope yours lives on strong... it's a pain having to deal with the transmission issue when these thing should be lasting 100k+ miles with proper maintenance.

I contacted Acura client relations to discuss a potential goodwill quote because my car is still under 100k and I've kept up with regular maintenance, but not at an Acura dealership :/
