Anyone interested in doing this?

I'm not sure on location but I was aiming for July 20-something which gives plenty of time to plan.
Location would be Austin. Closer to all major cities minus upper Texas which no one cares about

 

This would be a nice road trip

We usually set it up either in spring break or November. It gets really hot other times. I'm sure once the time gets close we wil set another one up soon.

Look for either "big ass Texas" or "big as Texas" on the thread title. We had one recently too.

Summer is the best time IMO. More time for everyone. Yeah it does get hot which is the only downside but I'm sure A/C and a couple of beers will solve it.

As I recall there will be a big as texas meet later on some time this year. As for when I do not know but some of the older mods were talking about it. From what I hear from the past it is a pretty fun event. Heres an old old vid from back in the day

I understand but you cannot have the same meet over and over again if that makes sense. I used to host meets on my old boards and if you do the same thing over and over again less people are going to attend. You have to have something to entice them to come such as a cruise at least or something to satisfy everyone (go kart racing, drag strip, dave & busters). That way everyone can get into it boys/girls/kids so no one feels left out. I don't mind having more than one meet if I could take the time off work but if I am going to drive down to Austin/Houston/San Antonio and just sit around in a parking lot/grilling and just taking some photos I could do that up here in Dallas. It might sound ignorant but some people just cannot sacrifice a work day just to come out and do the same thing they can do locally. I mean meeting new members is cool but its like after you guys meet what now? You know what I mean?

Thats just my 2 cents but anyway if you guys think of something I wouldn't mind. July is going to be hot just keep that in mind. I wouldn't mind doing something by the lake or something. That way everyone can go have a little fun on a hot day...ALso if that does happen I am bringing my fishing poles lol.

 

Id be down for another big as texas one in Nov. I dont want to do summer...its just too damn hot.

 

I wanted to go to Grapvine Lake originally so I could bring my two jetskis and possibly my Uncles boat.

The biggest complain we all had last time was that it was too hot. Usually once we meet up, we are all out side chatting.

ya some kinda water thing would be fun theres lake travis & NAIL05 i feel you i wouldnt wanna drive all far to stand around in the sun... if this happened we should have some kind of plan to do something; something where we could hang around all day entertained... water in texas is probably the best idea beer & bbq is what im hearing i know a good spot on the way that has kegs for a good deal maybe ill stop and bring one... Keg might be overkill and i doubt they would let you bring something that big. Bottles/cans would be your best bet at a meet. I dunno about drinking during a car meet...doesn't seem like a good idea even though I see it sometimes. as long as people arent gettin piss drunk i dont have an issue with it.

 

what about a trip to canyon lake by new braunfels? I got hookups on tubing there and it's pretty chill

dallas got a last minute warning on that last meet and no one could make it since it was too soon and nobody could take work off. Also no one posted in the dfw thread to let us know. could have been bigger.

 

went tubing down the comal yesterday in new braunfels yesterday there pretty kicked back about drinking down the river being there is a hundred million people doing it each day; just dont know where all of us can park together unless its a couple blocks away... but if we go early enough like 12~1 theres enough time to go around twice...

 

im hella down count me in ......
