What's needed to do it?

Edit: just watched a video for a 03 type s. If it's a similar process then I have all the tools but don't have any way to compress a spring if it's needed. Not sure if that matters

Remove rear seat. No need to have any spring compressors as you are not removing the spring from the actual strut or for that matter the assembly from the car.. Just after removing the seat, tighten the center bolt (to the TQ spec for factory, unsure off hand but usually around 30-50lb). This is the bolt that mounts the top hat to the assembly. And tighten the other mounting bolts for the strut mount. Very easy.

I've done it before. Remove back seat, remove tire, remove strut, and check condition of top hat. Remove Top Hat, add new top heat, tighten, and install top hat & strut. I just don't have the tools to mess around with unless I go back to Houston. I'm worried in going back to Houston because I think the top hat will get so loose (its already hitting the frame) that it could bottom out when I'm on the highway.

Do you all wanna plan a real headlight day? I'd like to know if there is anyone good at soldering. This is a 1-day event in November on maybe a Saturday or Sunday. Everyone works on 1 car at a time unless we have tons of people to do two at a time. This shouldn't take any longer then 6 hours. Everyone would need to equally pitch in for paint and butyl and any other necessary equipment.

oh, I'll have to replace my rear brake pads before I leave on friday.
the squealers are squealing. and i dont want the metal to come in contact with the rotors.

I'm just trying to plan out the weekend.
you say, you're replacing rear aspec on possibly friday? which means you would be home? text me the address and time you're gonna be home!
I dont want to be to much of a burden!

We can possibly do both at the same time depending on everyone's availability.

I got my strut fixed today and now all I wanna do on Saturday at your house Matt is my spark plugs! Got a killer deal on them for only $30 for all 6. WINZ

Currently I really can't think of much to mod the car with.... Muffler for a little more purr at throttle and tires, Toyo T1S, and a train horn (yes I'm serious) to keep the retarded drivers in this city paying attention

I could just run a butterfly valve with a switch to go from stock exhaust to open headers.

Anyone wanna help me do my spark plugs real quick?

There easy right? Haven't done mine yet. Remove Sway Bar and coolant reservoir. Then take out plugs and put new plugs in 13 ft lb. right?

No sway bar removal "TELL'EM BEEZ"... 6in extension & s-plug socket...really one man job unless someone's holding your waist ..lol...might have to break extension in the tubes to remove in some of the back ones...he did his himself; didn't take long...maybe just do it when your engines cold...
