Hello my name is Marlon and I recently purchased a 2005 Acura TL/navi. I would like to meet more 3g TL owners to find about parts/mods, fixes etc. this car is new to me I am barely getting use to it so any advice or information is welcome.

thank you guys, I need to get out to the meets and see what you guys have done to your cars and go from there. for now the only thing I would like to attempt is hack the navi. if anyone can assist me with that it would be great.

 

Welcome man and congrats. What part of town do you stay at? I was thinking bout doing the navi hack recently but my dvd in my trunk took a shit on me. Are you trying to mod for looks or performance?

 

I stay in the 249 and beltway, and i was trying to mod the navi for looks mostly although that thing is out of date.... I looked up in the acura site and the disk is $150 or so. is there a way around it? oh and i want to get rid of the "ok" at launch

 

Welcome to the gang man, congrats on the purchase. As for nav disk, I am not sure if the newer can be modded. For $150, I would pass. I got the 2011 update for $99 and there isn't much difference appearance wise. Feel free to ask about anything, we have some pretty handy guys on here.

I have read the thread and I would make the attempt but since its my first time doing such mod. i want someone on the side in case i mess something up or whatever comes up. back up is never a bad thing.

 

no pics yet, I need to get out and take some. its nothing special though a pearl white 05 acura TL stock

 

I dont think anyone of the current Houston members have attempted to do it.

I'm pretty good at computers but i have an old nav disk that wont be able to do it.


if you're good at computers, you can do it no problem.

 

I used to have the navi hack but since I upgraded to newer version it no longer works for me

If I'm not mistaken another member Jason "Redaggie" has the navi hack

 

Yea I remember Jason having that done to his TL. Also I think Jordan has it too right ?

 

the point being, its not hard if you know computers.

Nice, hope that I can see you on the road. I keep seeing a mod TL on the Dairy Ashford Dr near the toll way but never had a chance to meet him

 

I used to see a WDP on Dairy Ashford, parked in front of the pawn shop right before you get to Westpark Tollway. Is that the one you are talking about ?
