It's a new construction community a mile south of 635 in Las Colinas. La Villita is the name of it.

Any meets or get-togethers going on this next week? I will be in Dallas from the 5th of Aug. till the 14th. I have a coaching class on the weekends, but during the week I am free. Hey Ruf are you going to the FC dallas game on Saturday at the new stadium out in Frisco? I'll be there Post here or PM me if any one is getting together. I plan on replacing my stock speakers with the Avincar speakers that I got from elduderino.

Can't have a nice place without a nice grill.

My grill at my place needs some help-it works off of natural gas, not propane

Let me know how they sound. I have been contemplating those speakers for my Vette.

Anyways, the triathlon that I am doing is through Team in Training, who works with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. They have all sorts of races all throughout the year. Check out their website here:

Yeah, I'm gonna sit on it for at least a year (tax on profit hella-drops after that) and then sell it when I think interest is peaked. I don't know shiot about real estate, but everything points to that community appreciating pretty quickly from my purchase price. I'll definitely be while I live there!

If you hold it for at least 2 yrs, you will not have to pay capital gains taxes. However, if you keep it for under 2 yrs, you will have to pay uncle sam on your profit :yuk:

That was a lot of fun. I liked the tower of power games with 250 kills that we played. I had never played a game like that before. We must play again today or tonight.

Thanks, that's what I did. I searched by his name and saw that he'd been active here recently. I'd just assumed he'd dropped off like I had.

House looks like it's going to be nice! What you planning on doing after you sell it in a couple years?

Roll the profits into another mortgage and repeat step #1.

Yeah, those rules have changed a lot recently. 2 years is awesome in that you don't even have to roll over the profits into another home or anything like that -- it's just tax free cash.

It does drop from like 35% (isn't that what capital gains tax is?) to 18% after one year, right? I may be a bit off on that.

If I had kids, it'd be tough, but I don't mind packing up a truck every 2 years if it's a big income supplement. I hate staying in the same place more than that anyway.

It's not too personal. I was married for 8 years, it was not too bad a breakup. We are actually better friends now. I guess we have to be because of Taylor. It's not too bad

^^ That's not too bad of a situation then -- hopefully financially the rug didn't get pulled out from under you too much -- i.e. the ex-wife has a good job, etc.
