Forgot to mention I ran over a goos sized piece of concrete on the Dallas Tollway in Frisco.

Haven't checked the full damage, but it did bang up the exhaust and who knows what else. :angryfire

So, remember how my Viper was all nice and shiny and accident free? Well, not anymore

I am washing the car in my complex, minding my own business, when a neighbor comes screaming around the corner and plows into the car at a good 15 mph.

She was driving a rental car, cause her car was in the shop being fixed from her last accident, and the bumper is all fucked up. She hit the Viper on the driver's side of the front bumper and scratched it all to shit while pushing it in and totally fucking it up.

I sam fuckin furious right now I can hardly type. My nice, accident free car just got molested. The value just went down the shitter. I already called the insurance company and she called hers.

Something tells me she's going to get dropped. I wonder if her insurance company offers diminished value riders on her policy.

Don't you just love it . . . so many people don't care about cars the way we do

If it's a true accident, then that happens, but when it plain stupidity . . then they need to pay up big time . .. teach them to consider other peoples property and such.

Hey Grayson, on another note, I need to get with you sometime during this week to get your radio back to you so it can be charged up by Saturday morning. Let's hope you're still going in some way. Maybe borrow the S2K back from your mom for the day or something.

Thanks for all of the kind words guys. I am still just filled with mixed emotions.

Anyways, I talked with the insurance guy, brought the car over, and he wrote me up an estimate to have the bumper REFINISHED, and touch up the spots where the bumper scraped up against the hood. NO F-ING WAY!!

The best part, the damn temp gauge is now messed up. Driving home from the insurance guy's office (a 5 min drive) the temp gauge went from normal, which is about 190, to about 250, overheating, in about 2 mins. I immediatly shut her down and let her cool off. I don;t know if it is just a sensor or if something is wrong.

I told the insurance guy that he had to have a flat bed come pick it up and bring it to the body shop that I wanted, and he tried to push me even more to take it to his "Lexus recomended" network shop. F-that.

Man, I am done talking with this guy. I will let my insurance company deal with him now.

Trust me, I had to walk away from strangaling her on the spot.

To top it all off, her kid was screaming in the back seat.

Talked to the bodyshop, they were great. Said haul it up here, and we will look at it and get everything straightened out.

I'd consider hitting HTown for a meet. I'll post to their thread and then see if I can make plans around the family.

Ouch! I feel your pain! Were you actually out there with the car and washing it?

I had an accident in my TL and banged the front up pretty good (long story) but it's fixed now.

All I could think of was the same thing, I have a blemished record on my car. AND...now I have to go through the pains of getting it fixed.

Breath deep and remember, cars can be replaced and in a few years when you get that killer Ferrari you'll have forgotten all about this.
