Mantis,
Still want some tires for the track?
I may be swaping tires real soon. Just went to have my tires rotated and got quite a shock. After just 7k miles the fronts are down to the wear bar!
What is really shocking is that that I've been a lot easier on this set of tires than the Toyos. Never seen a track, no more 2nd gear chirps or spins so what
I really didn't like these tires much so I'd really like to do a complete switch. It all depends on what kind of deal I get and whether anyone wants the rear tires for a reasonable price I'll do it. They are in great shape since they never made it to the front. Let me know.

BTW - here's the specs on the tires.
225/45 ZR17 Falken Ziex ZE512
The grip was good as they didn't break loose and even seemed stickier than the Toyos.
Maybe a softer compound than the Toyos. Which is why the wasted so quickly.

Mantis,
Thanks for hosting. Just wish the pics were a bit better . . . i's even better in real life.
And just think, he built that car from the ground up himself and painted it at his house.
Oh, and yes . . . you need to ride in it and feel some real torque.

Yes, he did it all himself out of his garage.
No, no dyno yet, but butt dyno says 400+. Neck dyno says get a neck brace. Everytime it shifts my neck snaps back like a rag doll. We got on it a little on Saturday after lookings at some Rufs (Porsches) and when it hit 2nd the backend came out big time.
Should run 12s if it hooks up.

I got hooked up with some new Konig Appeals (wheels) that look almost identical to the ones I have for under $200 new. They took my rear tires and mounted them on the new wheels and are ready to be used for the track. They were 18lbs, not as light as I would have liked, but they match and were cheap . . and mounted and balanced for free.
The new tires I end up getting are Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S P225/45ZR-17 90W B. They already feel better than the Falken Ziex 512s. Stiffer sidewalls and no more squishy tire roll.

Now that I have some track tires . . maybe I'll go more often.

hah, it's just as scenic coming the way we came last time. It's actually more miles coming through Dallas, as I have traveled that route to AusTex a few times.

man, my thanksgiving couldn't have gone any better. i spent the night with my closest friends of my parents in a huge house in colleyville and in the presence of 4 hot polish girls. man, i've known the two sisters that live there for like 7 years and i just now figured out how cool/hot/fun they are. and their friends were cute too...there was this one girl that looked 22 and she was only 16 but jeez, i was like, you're a grown woman, what the fuck are you talking about 16? hehe. we all got drunk, went out to see the grudge, then came back to find a party of 20 (my mom, their parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts) to still be kicking...so we just talked. I GOT MY FIRST PHONE NUMBER IN 3.5 years. I had a girl for the last 3.5 years so it was kinda tough to go pimpin and picking up people... but man what a turn for the better. and grayson, dude, i got a place to stay for the meet. one of the sisters she goes to UT...i think i might stay with her. or at least go party or something. anyway, be happy for ol' funkee...things are finally looking up!
