damn guys... had to reevaulate my financial situation...

what if I don't get a job this fall? I'll be screwed if I can't find a part time job this fall considering I've blow 900 bucks recently on car stuff.

SO: everything is for sale
Bridgestone Potenza S03s 225/45/17, brand new, $640 shipped.
Injen CAI $140 shipped.
Eibach Sways: $320 shipped.

If you guys want any of this stuff let me know and I'll sell it to you for less as well as deliver it myself. The Injen will fit both a 6 speed and an auto b/c of the way it was modified by Smitty.

Other than that I wish I coudl be at the track with you guys. Hope you run well. So much humidity there it'll be rough.

so... I might be hitting some bars afterwards, so any of you drinkers *cough* mantis *cough* would like to join us after the track... hit me up on my cell!

Welcome Dashmo! you're surrounded by morons!

Hey Dashmo! Yeah, we hit the 1/4 mile in Ennis every now and then. More so when it's cold, but this way if you go when it's hot, then put on all your mods and go when it's cold, it will really look like you got your moneys worth.

It costs $15 to race, on some nights $12 if you have a student ID.

Bluesman, a boat and Coors doesn't sound like second best at all! That's what we should all be doing when it's this frickin hot out.

civic, you crack me up. How many mods have you bought and sold b4 even installing them? :P Did you pay cash for all those mods. If so, I'd keep them, you probably won't be able to get those good deals again later, and you know you're gonna want those mods again later.

dashmo, yeah, we should be on schedule for the track this friday. chime in here for updates.

damn, the wheel repair shop called and said my rim is too thin to be repaired. If I use the same time it took to get my new rims... then it would take at least another 6 months before I have my car looking like its supposed too.

sigh, I hate this car.

I don't think I will make the strip this Friday. I think I have to go out with my girlfriend because she had a bad week.

Yesterday, she had her trees trimmed but they scalped them instead. She lives in Dallas and these were old, beautiful trees and now they look bare. Some things look better when they are trimmed bare--trees are not one of them.

So I think I am going to have to take her out somewhere nice--and you know she won't go to the track...

understandable Inferno...

well, to make my matters worse, not only does it look like I might not be able to get this rim repaired, but I also had to buy a new tire because the nail also went through the side wall.

another $200 bucks to shell out...this bad luck is pissing me off.

ohh, and it also looks like the NOS wont be in in time for F.A.T.T. I'd say there is about a 60 - 40 chance in favor of me _not_ having it in...

yeah, i sat back, and analyzed what was giving me all these problems. Except for the bad tranny, busted invertor, SRS detector, and the back seat coverings falling off, they all stem from my dumbass modifying the car.

Then I thought, what made me modify it?
When I first bought the car, I had 0 intention of doing anything to it.

Then it dawned on me what the root cause of my problems are........

oh, cool, so it wasn't too tough? I can probably borrow my neighbors jack and jackstands. Maybe when I ask he'll offer to help.

I was just reading peiqinglong's DIY guide here: http://bui4ever.com/projects/projects_swayinstall.htm

it looks pretty straight forward.

The red looks great. Comptech are grey...they end up looking stock with a little road grime on them! Way to take advantage of your fellow forum friend's bad luck. Next thing you know, Danny will have cut a deal with the NOS man and they will have installed Mantis' NOS in Danny's car. Now THAT would be bad luck, Mantis.

I thought it was pretty cool when i saw they were red too. Too bad they aren't very visible.

yeah.. it's polished. but if you want the colorscheme then I say go for it and pay the extra money. I mean it's your car after all. If you want it I'll sell it to you. I just bought it from Smitty for $137 so. I just don't wanna lose too much money is all. I'll even deliver it to your door ... Thanks man.

yeah, I got them for danny... still have my set for sale... MAYBE... I really think I mgiht end up keeping those. The tires though will probably have to go. I want to save up fo a trip to Italy and Japan for next summer. My car will never really be that fast and it'll never handle all that well. If I have a job this fall then i'll go back to sinking money into it but I'd really just love to have a system with navi and some rims. I'm keeping teh "looks" stuff I had bought this summer like the M5 spoielr and the sills though.

danny: i'm glad you got them already man, I wasn't sure if tehy'd made it there yet.

Dashmo.... the easiest and quickest (IMO) and the route with the fewest cops will be to take I-45. Just hop on 75 and take I-45 like you were goin to Houston. You'll get to exit number 251B and take a right at the light. Go for about 6 miles and you'll see the track on your right. You'll turn down this little road, then another small turn to get to the entrance, but you should be able to see it all.

For address and all the other info, click here: http://www.texasmotorplex.com/

EDIT: The total trip will take 30 - 45 mins depending on your driving "style"

Yeah, it seems like forever to get to Ennis and then it seems even longer to get through town. You will see the stands once you get close. You pay at the gate. You will need to tell them you are a driver and they will give you a "tech" form. Then go to the back of the lot to get your car "teched" and a number put on with shoe polish.

When you run, make sure you turn your traction control OFF (the little yellow triangle will appear). The first run, you may want to just leave it in D3 so you can learn the system. After that, you will find gateshifting gives you an extra 2/10ths.

Staging is easy but the first time is a little strange. Just ease up until the first yellow light lights up. Then inch up about six inches and the second yellow will light up. When both double yellows are lit, then the green will come on (they sometimes use a countdown but I have also been there when it just went green). Green means go!

The time slips are handed out at the end of the track once you have pulled off and made the u-turn. There is also a scale to weigh your car. On good runs, I write down my weight.

Have fun! Inferno

use rubbing alcohol to take off the shoe polish... soap and water ain't gonna cut it, unless you like wearing out your arm...
