Ok, Im in Canada...(if it makes a diffrence) and I got the Rogers wireless plan on my N-Gage, or so I thought...I look at my phone to make a call and I see this:



As you can see, It doesnt say Rogers at the top,,,,it says "Microcell"...What the fluck is microcell? Did they buy out rogers or something???

Yes Rogers bought out Microcell 2 days ago:

Microcell has been acquired by Rogers Wireless, which is approximately 89% owned by Rogers Communications Inc.

Yeap that's the deal... Just make sure you check your bill and see that your plan didn't change.

 

Rogers also got Fido too.

 

Ok...now Ive got another question, I was listening to music and I noticed this....It went back to saying "Rogers" at the top an the signal was full, then it dropped to nothing (No signal at all) then it went back up to full signal saying "Microcell" again....now Im wondering if this is because Im using different GSM towers? or what?

Until they get everything striaghtened out, some customers will experience this. I know in the U.S., Cingular is coming out with 64kb sim cards to handle the handover between Cingular, At&t, and T-Mobile (west and east coasts) towers so it might be the same in Canada.

 

I use BELL Mobility ( Canada )

 

Im stuck with the GSM network...Id like to have Telus or something like that, but, guess not, Its ok for what I use it for...I got no complaints...
