I want one now. But Best Buy has it for sale at $3,300 while I find them on the Internet sites at $2,400.

Any suggestions on where to buy???

Gateway - NEW! Gateway 56" DLP HDTV Ready Projection TV with Dual Faroudja DCDi, Dual NTSC Tuners, DVI w/ HDCP, and Universal Remote for $3499.99 plus Shipping, Plus FREE DVD Recorder! (Posted by: Apex)
Gateway just released their new DLP television set. It`s a huge 56" set with 1280x720 native resolution (TI`s Mustang HD2 chip, I believe), dual Faroudja DCDi processing, dual NTSC tuners, DVI w/HDCP compliance, two component inputs, s-video, composite inputs, and a universal remote. It`s less than 19" thick, so it won`t take up too much space in your room. No burn in worries with DLP, so game to your heart`s content! They`re also throwing in a free Gateway AR-230 standalone DVD recorder with progressive ouput (a $349.99 value)! Limited time offer, unknown expiration date. GATEWAY

you're better off buying the tv at a local store because if it gets damaged in transit, then you have to ship it back. not worth the hassle for me. see if the local store will price match it.

Kavex,

Do you know how this Gateway compares to the Samsung unit? I was going to purchase the 61" Samsung DLP in the next 2 weeks.

that panasonic is not a flat panel, it's still a project, over 15" deep. No tuner in that set, you have to have an external tuner. I'd review it real close before buying. LCD's just have not impressed me with picture quality, for that matter, all projections just don't do it for me, especially if you have to view from the side.
