How do you change the name of who the computer is registered to? I was given a laptop from a friend and it always says his name on Word documents and other stuff. Thanks in advance people.

 

Have you tried changing the "computer administrator" name and information? Turn off all guest/secondary accounts and update with your info only. Also, for office....there should be a way to clear out all the cache for those specific programs and return them to default spec.....

Try going into Word, click tools, then options. Then click the "user information tab" and change everything to your info. See if that works for you.

 

Start/Run/Regedit

Search the registry for the exact name the computer is currently registered to. When you find it, change it to what you want it to be and reboot.
