Windows XP question...disabling auto-hide menu

You know when you open WORD or EXCEL and you click on File up top...how do you get it to show the entire menu with having to click on the double down arrow.

This also happens for the Start > Programs menu.

I've done it once, but can't remember how...and I'm too damn lazy. Help a bratha out.

Thanks.

While in any MS Office program

Click on TOOLS - CUSTOMIZE

choose the OPTIONS tab

select the option that says "always show full menus"

I did that...and it didn't work. The "Scroll Programs" is checked.

I thought that was it too...

edit: do I need to reboot?
