Windows XP help.....

So I reforatted my laptop and the reformat went good but now when it boots up there are 2 Windows XP's to choose from, Im thinking the other one is my previous version but am unsure and am not willing to go into it as it was seriously fawked up...so how do I go about getting rid of that other "Windows XP" at start up?

Thanks

Look for the file boot.ini and edit it.

You may need to remove the read only property first.

Click "check all paths" and you should be prompted for an automatic cleanup.

If not, you "probably" should delete the last line...

Instead of taking a chance of deleting something you can just try to change your default boot-up.

Right-Click on My Computer then Properties>Advanced (TAB)
In Startup and Recovery click on Settings
In the new window choose the default OS that you want. This will make the appropriate changes in the Boot.ini for you.

Its been a while since I've worked hands on problem solving pc's. So if you f*** it up don't blame me! I think that should help up though.

And also, let me preface... You delete too much and your machine won't boot. So be carefull.
