windows update ?
ok so i reinstalled Win2K yesterday and i was able to run the updates fine... so i loaded my raid card driver and it f'ed the system up. so i reinstalled 2K again. Now i can't run Windows Update anymore. It asks me to install the software to scan and then goes from 0 to 100 without scanning and says no new updates are available. So I installed XP and same thing, it wont run the updates. Anyone have any ideas. I looked all over MS support, cant find anything. Now i dl'ed some updates manually, and they installed fine, but why won't WU work? Yes these are legit copies of both XP and 2K. anyone have any idea?
Seen this many times. Check for the following.
1. Check your Date and time settings in Windows. This is usually the #1 reason for this. In this case usually it is the Date that is off.
2. If theabove doesn't work, then check your language settings
- Tools > Internet Options in Internet Explorer
- Click on Languages
- Make sure that English is listed, if not add it and if there are more than one languages in the list, then move English to the top.
That should fix it for you. If not let me know. There are a few more things to try.

No problem man. Yea the Update Site checks the time stamp of you local system with the server that you are connecting you. Since the date did not match it stated no updates available.
Glad I was able to help
