Why does my Verizon signal strength suck lately?

I'm in the Baltimore/DC metro area and over the past 2 weeks my signal strength is horrible at times. It never was before. But my calls get dropped all the time. At least twice daily. Usually when I'm in the car on 495 or 95 (the two main highways here). What the hell?? It is absolutely horrible when it is raining too.

Could it be my phone?

try *228 option 2, update your roaming list...

Try getting a software upgrade on your phone..those 2 usually do the trick

software and prl upgrades don't improve the performance of your phone, not at all. not unless the new software is designed to fix a flaw in original phone, in which case, there were be thousands of customers with your problem.

all i can think of is that the [verizon] network changes with usages. could be overloaded. if there is an accident and both sides of the freeway stop, and everybody jumps on their phone at the same time, no network can withstand that increase in capacity.

rain shouldn't really affect your phone. but when the leaves come out in the spring, that DOES change the coverage.
