Unhappy BlueTooth Technology

TL folks,

I recently received this message from AT&T Wireless with regard to an
inquiry I made about BlueTooth Phones.

Thank you for contacting AT&T Wireless. Currently, AT&T Wireless does not support BlueTooth technology. However, if it is something that we will offer in the future, we will advise the public as it becomes available.

Does this mean my wireless service will not even work with a BlueTooth
phone on the TL ?

I'm so depressed . . . I was really looking forward to this feature of the TL.

Your cell phone communicates wiht the TL via bluetooth, AT&T has nothing to do with it. I have a AT&t V600 connceted to the TL and works great except i dont get the battery life indicator on my TL screen. This a problem with the phone, not the carrier.

Yep, has nothing to do with it. You can get an unlocked v600 and use ANY service, and I'm pretty sure a locked one can work with AT&T. Personally I have T-Mobile simply because if I switched I saved 250 bucks.

Fear not...As long as you have a bluetooth phone with your AT&T service you are fine. Sounds like you ran into an uninformed customer service rep at AT&T, which isn't unusual. If you don't have a bluetooth phone, once you buy one they should be able to switch your service over without changing your contract.

Search the forum and you'll find opinions on all the different models available. I have the Sony Ericcson T616 w/AT&T and it works great.

I can't believe AT&T said that, in that they sell the Siemens S56, which is what I have. My provider is Cincinnati Bell Wireless, but they are a division of AT&T. They sell the S56 on their website, when I looked about a month ago. I think they gave you some bad info.

kelnshe,

That actually was my initial question. . . I wanted a Siemens phone, but they
didn't have the BlueTooth enabled one on their website. Do you like your S56?
