Sign up for a plan from buy.com or amazon.com. The phone is only 50-100 bux if its a new activiation (mail in rebates), but what you can do is just cancel the service within the trial period and you'll keep the phone. Basicily just the phone alone end up costing you around 200 bux, instead of 300 on ebay.

 

are you sure this works? Have you tried it? cuz the phone off amazon is only 90 after rebates....so your sayin after cancellin the trial period i can keep the phone for only 90!

 

I'm saying just pay the price of the phone listed at amazon or buy.com you won't get the rebate. The phone price before rebate is around $200. It will end up costing less than buying it from ebay.

 

oh i hear you bro...i actually tried to do that...but it wont let me...how do i cancel the service...cuz when u pick the phone the next page asks you to pick a service?

 

Actually amazon and buy.com is more expensive than ebay. There is a special price when purchased with a plan and then you get additional rebates.

Sign up for a plan like normal, and when you get the phone call Nextel and cancel the service. There is a 15 days trial period so you dont have to pay for early Term. fees. For the rebate to work, they require you to mail them the 2ND month of the bill so you can't get the rebate for this reason but you just end up paying $200 dollar for the phone. Buy.com has this phone for $200 with activation, this is what you pay up front to get it into your hands.

 

So basically you will have to pay $400 from Amazon unless you get the plan which will be $250. Rebates when mailed in will make it $100.

 

i already have nextel now.......

if i sign up for a new plan i will have to pay $35 activate fee.....

this is what i did, i called up nextel and told them i need a new phone

so nextel gave me a deal they are giving me the phone for $249.99, thats how much i gota pay for the phone, however they are also giving me a deal to save $$, for 1 year they will take away the Caller ID fee ($1) and the voicemail fee ($1).

ALSO they are taking 15% of my rate plan each month!!, my plan is only $39.99 a month, so 15%off is $5.99 plus the $2 for the Caller ID and Voicemail, thats $7.99 each month i save, in over a years time i save $95.88

so if you take away $249.99 - $95.88 = $154.11 thats how much i am paying for the phone if you think about.

Yes i know i can get the phone for like $100 with a new plan but the contract HAS to be 2 YEARS!, 2 years is a long time i dont know if i want a contract that long also remember activation fees $35

$154.11 - $35 = $119.11 so if you think about it for about $20 more i save 1 year in contract

also my plan is low only $39.99, if you have a higher price plan you'll save even more $$!!

also Nextel chargers a upgrade fee i dont know how much that is but they didnt charge me for it and if you have a I95, you'll need a new SIM CARD for the i860 or else you wont be able to use some of the functions o the 860 with your OLD sim card, Nextel gave me a free SIM CARD too
