Upgraded: Treo 650

Well I was debating the move from the 600 to the 650 since our office is slowly making everyone carry Blackberrys.

Well couldn't wait, sold my 600 to a member on the board and got my 650 and some other toys this week.

Krusell Horizontic case

Sony Ericsson HBH-660 - Bluetooth rocks - I keep the phone on my hip most of the time - caller ID on the headset

Also ordered a skin for the phone. Basically a frosted rubber condom for the phone (these things are slippery as hell without them)

Phone has some sweet new options. Camera is very good, takes video, has real player for watching movies.

treocentral.com is running deals on it. $419 - $130 in rebates - what I sold my 600 for = $90

Ok, so I spent another $150 on toys for it.

congrats! great choice.

mp3's sound great on that phone, in case you didn't know. although, you need the 1/8" adapter to use it with headphones or whatnot.

you can get the adapter @ treocentral.com

Just the number. Haven't found one that will display the name.

i have the exact same headset and skin.

i was wondering does the 650 fit in that case with the skin on it?

mine wouldn't fit in my case after i put the skin on.

the bt800 doesn't play well with the t650 because it was designed with bt1.2 in mind.

i hope that palm updates us so we can have bt1.2. they already put bt1.2 hardware in the phone mind as well put it to use.

They say it's tight, but that's the way I like it.

got this phone too but using the motorola HS850 headset. only thing that bothers me is that bluetooth can only connect to one other device and ignores the others. here's 2 situations that got me a lil' frustrated

1) i'm using the phone w/ HFL. i pull up in the garage and turn off the car. i want to switch to my headset but the connection to the HFL won't disconnect until i hang up the phone

2) my mac has bluetooth and if i sync using the bluetooth then decide to use the phone and the handset after, it won't work. i have to disconnect the pair manually or restart the mac

i guess it's no big deal, just one of those little things i'm picky about. anyone found a software to use mp3 as ringtones that's free? only one i found is ringo for $30 . may just pay for it since it's a nice program, but rather use something free

oh and did you get that skin from treocentral.com too?

Got mine on eBay from Hong Kong. It's the unbranded one, looks and feels exactly the same as the $20+ one. I paid like $11 shipped.

fuck, I'm dying to get this phone but can't decide if I should go with Sprint or VZN. I'm moving to NC and I hear VZN has the best coverage there although my sprint phone worked pretty well outdoors. most people complain that indoors sprint sucks (at least there). My other dilemna is that I may be locked to sprint till dec. (two year contract) and I have a family plan (sprint's is supposed to be pretty good compared to the others).

decisions, decisions, decisions!

Where in NC are you moving?

I lived in Winston-Salem for 4 years, and have done a lots of traveling through the state both in college and the past year for work.

I have had Sprint since 99 with problems in service while in NC.

hmm Raliegh/Durham was the area i visited least. But I dont remember having any issues with my phone coverage.

perhaps you should wait til you get there before buying. Then see how well your Sprint service is, or if you should switch.
