AT & T Complaints??

Anyone have any complaints w/ AT&T (service, quality, etc.). I'm thinking about switching from Cingular to AT&T.

more than 2 years after I canceled my service with AT&T they started sending me crazy bills. they said they were unpaid bills from when I had the service. I asked to see the invoice detailing the charges, but they said they only keep records for 2 years so they had no documentation. I told them I wasn't paying, they sent my account to a collections agency and now I have that on my credit report. In the end I had to pay $600 and I have shit on my record from those scumbags. I never had a late or unpaid bill, I know this for a fact. But hiring a lawyer to take care of this would have been more expensive than paying the bill.

this was a year ago that I got it cleared up. my boss just started getting crazy bills from them for 2 year old service last month.

every company has its problems, but AT&T has just been miserable in my experience and the experiences of a few people I know.

go with verizon or sprint pcs

Didn't Cingular just buy AT&T??? So what would be the point in swicthing? I mean, they will eventually merge together!

I heard horrible service stories from AT&T (on their GSM network).

I was thinking on switching too but I had Cingular match one of their family plans after an extensive talk with customer service.

Cingular bought AT&T, so for sure all AT&T customers will be part of Cingular. But it can take 1 or 2 years.

I believe Cingular has one of the best coverages in the US. I've been a customer since 1999, and I've never had problems with them (except sometimes with some morons CSRs)

ATT sucks. I have tries alot of them so far (Sprint, ATT, Voicestream, Alltel) and ATT is BS, next to sprint........damn expensive they are.

Yeah, ATT is as bad as Sprint.. Stay away -- well, if you're in Baltimore/DC/Delaware/Philly corridor..

Only company that receives reception even in the DC Metro -- VERIZON.

AT&T Sucks..

I have had Cingular when i lived in the Mid West and it was great..but then i moved to NC and got AT&T and it sucked.. bills were over charged..no Signal here or there..rude customer service..once my promo plan ended, they didnt let me know then just put me on a place that was $5 cheaper and 100 less minutes..i'll never go back to them again.. i'm moving on to Sprint, or Nextel cuz i get a good discount thru work..good luck guys..

I HATE AT&T WITH A PASSION!!!! Last night, for some unknown reason, they cut my voice service. So, i was on the line with them for 2 hrs trying to get things resolved! There has to be a way to get the services of these cell phone companies, not only AT&Ts, to get better. I renewed my contract with them a couple of months ago yet they're service is declining every freakin day! Is there a way for me to get out of this contract because of their poor service!!!!???

considering that there are systems in place that already make number portability a fast process, this migration shouldn't be bad.

Cingular has better coverage and all AT&T customers should get that.

well zamo....i decided to try cingular out since they have a 15 day return policy no questions asked. so i went there yesterday and got the motorola v400. they're customer service is definitely better. one ring on the phone and i get a live person. gsm/gprs signal in my apartment is siginificantly stronger...2-3 bars more than what i have with at&t. but damn it....i tried to call myself from my landline and constantly got "all circuits are busy now. please try your call again later". that was last night. i would be able to intermittently get across (3x) in 1hr, that's all i was getting. i said to myself they may be having some network issues. so this morning, i try again, same message..."all circuits are busy now. please...." i wonder what will happen when the merging of these two, at&t and cingular does push through!

went back and returned the phone and cancelled the service. it may be my area is heavily congested with users.....but i can't put up with that! sprint sucks here too! so does t-mobile! i may try verizon...but i hate them cuz they are just a monopoly!!! oh well....

sorry to hear that. I had just good experiences but in Florida. I guess location matters. The V400 its a nice phone tho.

This is why I keep all my bills I get. Every time I pay them I write teh date paid, plus teh check number, or internet transaction number. I also have dually listed in my quicken files. I refuse to ever screwed over like that. All my bills are organzed in a cabinet by service. SBC just tried that shit with me, but I caught them, because I keep all my records.

Just good practice for all you guys.

ive had nothing but bad luck with the AT&T GSM service, and this is probably because i have their crappiest phone. The Panasonic GU87, which was discountinued because of the awful service for it.

Hopefully i can talk them into giving me a v600 or pay the price difference.

AT&T F'ed me up...

I had AT&T and the knew about me quitting their service from all the complaints i had from my service so they threw on an additional 200 min's that i didnt use and it took my bill from $45/mon. to $120 for my last month..pissed me off..i called them and they said they cant do anything about it.. they said they can only do something about it if i sign on another yr w/ them..i hung up on them.. now i got sprint and am happy w/ it..good luck guys..
