Signal booster for VZW aircard

I hope this is the right section for this.

I recently bought a UM150 Aircard from Verizon. Living in the barracks i get pretty shitty signal, (sad thing is that its the same speed as what Time Warner was in my old room with 1bar of signal). I was looking through the manual and there is a location for a signal booster does anyone have any experience with using signal boosters and if so whats a good one?

I doubt that any "booster" will truly work. Many with USB cards get a USB extension and strategically place the actual card for optimal signal strength - say, out the window or something...

The booster is usually a powered antenna. Google search the model of your card and "extended antenna" and you should find something.

This is the first thing I would try.

Try a cable like this:
http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

It will allow you to relocate your USB device to somewhere with a better signal, preferably near a window or door.

If that doesn't work, the next thing I would try would be an external antenna. There are several on this site:

Good luck!
