Sick laptop for under 2300.. opinions...

looking to get a laptop for architecture 3d modeling programs

heres what i need...
16 in. +
wireless lan
2.8ghz +
1 GB ram

everything else is no biggie. gateway has a nice 17in laptop for cheap, but dont gateways suck?

i really would like to get the sony laptop with Xbrite (kinda similar to HDTV) but once u upgrade them to a gb of ram, those things get way too out of my price range

price range = $2300 or less

Cool. Now you can whip up some more TL Coupe Concept photoshops.

Maybe hard to find

Try here http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_a...yword=&sortby=

You might wanna get a top notch one with 512 RAM and them upgrade to 1 GB.

Research on pricegrabber. I will suggest Toshiba, IBM or Fujitsu

sickest laptop ever: Sager 8790 aka Hypersonic Aviator GX7 aka VoodooPC M:780

http://www.hypersonic-pc.com/2001/systems-mobile.htm

http://www.powernotebooks.com/product.php?itemId=232

http://www.sagernotebook.com/index.html

why so many "a.k.a"'s? Clevo is the Taiwanese manufacturer.
Sager is the US vendor which distributes to boutique resellers like Alienware/VoodooPC/and other places.

best notebook forum: www.notebookreview.com (countless research hrs. spent here :o )

That forum is owned by these guys: http://pctorque.com/8790.php

Say NO to fancy paintjobs, micro-slim underpowered and overpriced notebooks. This is the absolute powerhouse hands down.

Sony with a limited amount of ram, get an upgrade from simpletech. I know Geisha and I like our Vaio's, but I burnt the mobo in mine within the first year.

You could accidently steal mine from my car....
