I'm working on a 166GB bkf files that Windows won't read and I've used a couple tools and not had much luck. SysTool BKF Recovery quits a quick scan at 13%, quits a deep scan after phase one and if I do a range scan of 14%-100% it "completes" but no data shows up.

We've also tried "Recover data for MS backup" with no luck.

what about imaging the disk, then working on it?
windows 8 has vhd mount, lots of other disk image stuff out there

prob some linux based stuff out there

i used to have a bunch after a hd crash.
