Question to all the Dell laptop owners

So my sisters need laptops for when they go to college and i have been looking into Dell laptops (14 inch) E1405 model. Nowadays most manufacturers such as Toshiba, Sony have really glossy and clear looking screens (they call it TruBrite and Xbrite respectively). Now I've never seen a Dell with a glossy screen, even a friend who got a Dell a few months back had a pretty old school looking screen on his laptop.

So is this TrueLife option for the Dell laptops suppose to be the clean, glossy screens?

I was so bummed when I got mine... cause, for some reason... I thought it was going to have a screen like that... a couple of my other options before buying the Dell... was a Toshiba or a HP from Costco... (both had the really brite screens), but for once.... I didn't buy something from Costco... and kinda regreted it...

Buy Dell for Students!

My recommendation is Dell because of their tech support; plain and simple. For students, trust me, they're going to share the laptops with roomies, friends, etc. The laptop is going to get banged up; Dell will be there the next day with replacement part or ship it to them if they're tech savvy.

Actual laptop recommendation: Dell Inspiron E1705, best combo of entertainment (DVD movies, 17" UXGA screen) and performance.

Cheers!

Same here. Matter of fact, I set the computer name on mine to "Mirrorboy" because of the screen.
