ppc 6700 vs. treo 700 (sprint)

i currently have the treo 650...mine has been through hell and back and its time for a new phone...should i hold out for the treo700 to hit sprint, or should i just get the 6700...the reviews on phonescoop.com have been good so far for the 6700...just wanted to get a few more opinions before i get it. i really dont want to goto the windows operating system, but it looks like thats where everything is headed anyways. and if you think it would be wise to just get another 650 let me know...theres people on this board that know more about them than i. let me know what the best choice would be for the next year or so.

Get the 6700.

Any treo beyond the 650 is vaporware....nothing but paper.

I am pretty sure the treo700 will happen. I would try to stick it out.

...you've been reading the cellular forums too much.

that's a whole lot of "sticking it out" if you ask me.

I believe the 6700 is better overall. I am partial to PPC and I really like the high-speed EVDO capability of the 6700.

Don't believe everything you see (I've seen lots of pictures of one offs that never made it to market for one reason or another). Besides I thought we were talking about Sprint, perhaps you were suggesting that Verizon is guarenteed to have the new Treo. Good luck. Verizon is pretty slow which is what I meant by sticking it out (you could be waiting until summer).

Repeat: There are no guarantees that Sprint will sell this new Treo and since Palm can't possibly sell a phone on their own without Sprint or Verizon..... Buy the 6700 today.

The thing you need to ask youself is the quality from Treo. Go read up on the forums or ask around for how many people have had to replace their Treo 650. Or Treo 600.

Ask about the unit crashing or other misc O/S and software problems. It's insane... more than it should be. Look at all the other Plam devices out there that don't have these garling issues.

90% of the people I know have had to replace theirs. And most are on their 2nd or 4th unit. My dad is on his 5th cingular treo 650 as of this week. He's had it for 2-3 months.

Then go ask about the 6700 and build quality.

I don't recommend the 650. I do recommend the 6700. Even when I carried my treo-650 I would never make the recomendation for anyone to purchase it. Albeit it's an upgrade from the treo600 it's not a solid device.

Thats a 670 on Verizon

I doubt you will win an argument regarding what phones are coming out on Sprint with Ken.

Oh and... I have the 650... and I haven't had any major problems. It does crash/freeze about twice a week though. Bluetooth hotsync with PC is a huge pain in the ass too, I gave up and went back to using the cable. Speaker is too quiet also even after firmware upgrades. Last complaint is that Palm OS sucks, and so does palm desktop.

Get the 6700. I'm debating between getting that or going back to a non pda phone and getting the razor imitator thing (the 'blade')

From what I understand the Treo 700w will be coming to Verizon. You should really also check out the Motorola Q which is rumored to be coming to Verizon? That is surprising as they are similar phone/PDA combos
